The Urban Water Symposium will consist of 2 segments; a presentation (4 sessions) on urban water issues in Water Supply, Storm-Water Management, River & Streams, and Waste-Water Management, as well as a meeting (2 sessions) involving all the city officials

The objective of this symposium is to share and present problems in the area of water issues in urban areas as well as preparation meetings for the Asian Pacific Local Authority Summit 2011

 
The first session meeting will aim to establish a network between the water business and the city officials, where:
  ¤ıCity officials will present business opportunities in their respectively countries
¤ıPotential collaboration opportunities between the water business and the cities officials and their
   agencies
The second session will focus on the following issues:
  ¤ıFeedback from the city officials about the Urban Water Symposium
¤ıThe possibility of organizing the Asian Pacific Mayor Local Authority 2011 in the WCWF 2011 and also:
  - The overarching theme for the Asian Pacific Local Authority Summit 2011
- The co-planning and co-organize the Asian Pacific Local Authority Summit 2011 with the different
   cities.
As for the symposium presentations, there will be 4 sessions, each with a different theme:
  ¤ıComprehensive Water Supply & Quality in Growing Urban Area
¤ıUrban Flooding & Disaster Prevention
¤ıUrban Wastewater Challenges
¤ıFuture Water Urban Issues

¡°Sustainable River Management¡±
The objective of the River Symposium is to share and exchange best practices and successful case-studies on river management, both in Korea and internationally.

The symposium will be conducted in 6 sessions (2 hours long) over the course of 3 days in both Korean and English language. The presenters will come from research centers, universities and international organizations.

The different themes for the7 sessions are:
  - Session1 : River and Urban
- Session2 : River Management
- Session3 : Water Quality in River
- Session4 : River Restoration I
- Session5 : River Governance
- Session6 : Local Authority's View on River
- Session7 : River Modeling & Management
 
The underlining objective of this symposium is to discuss the long- term development of the World City Water Forum. The planned goals are:
  - Definition of the trademark and planning of the WCWF as a noteworthy and unique event within
   the water field.
- Review of the plans, programs and selected topics through discussion with a long-term scope.
This program will be conducted over the course of 2 sessions with participants coming from the organizing committee of WCWF, Incheon Metropolitan City, other international and water related forums and 1-2 participants or review panel members of each program of WCWF2010.
